Geely is giving its electric SUVs a major technical lift. The upgraded EX5 combines an 800-volt platform, up to 245 kW and 521 km of WLTP range with LiDAR, a larger frunk and more driver-assistance features, while the closely related revised E5 is expected to bring similar specifications to Europe in 2027.

At the more affordable end, the Škoda Epiq 40 is now available to order in Germany from €27,900, offering 310 km of range and a 23-minute 10% to 80% charging time. For working fleets, Volkswagen has introduced an extended ID. Buzz Cargo with 4.4 m³ of space, an 86 kWh battery and V2L for powering electric tools.

Australia recorded a milestone in August as EVs became the country’s largest individual powertrain category for the first time, with the Tesla Model Y also taking the top spot in the overall model ranking. In the US, Toyota’s electric SUV sales rose 35% month on month, helped by improvements and a lower starting price for the updated bZ.
